This calculator determines the amount of ARR to be paid on secondary sales of original works of art.
For accurate results, enter the day when the sale took place and the exact sale price excluding buyers’ premium. Please remember that ARR came into effect on 14th February 2006. Any sales prior to this date cannot be calculated. Any indication of the royalty payable provided by ACS must be treated as an estimate until the actual sale price and exchange rate are known.
As dictated by the UK Statutory Instrument, the ACS calculator uses exchange rates provided by the European Central Bank. These rates are updated on a daily basis at 3pm. Please note, if you are using the calculator prior to the time when the exchange rate is updated, we will use the rate from the previous day. Please consult the sliding scale below to see how the royalty amount is calculated.
