The Artist's Resale Right (ARR) is a royalty generated on the sale price of original works of art that are sold on the secondary market throughout Europe.

In order to ensure that our members receive the ARR royalties that they are due throughout Europe, ACS has agreements with a number of European collecting societies. The societies marked with a ‘△’ in the table below denote those societies with which ACS holds unilateral agreements. If a foreign collecting society’s commission is higher than 15%, where legally possible, ACS will always collect directly from Art Market Professionals in that country. This ensures that the artist or estate is never charged more than is absolutely necessary.

In addition to this, ACS also administers ARR on behalf of a number of our sister societies’ members in the UK. The societies with whom we hold such agreements with are marked with a ‘▲’ in the table below. For a full list of artists represented in the UK only under such an agreement, please consult this document.
