Daniela Raytchev

Originally from Bratislava, Slovakia, Daniela’s art offers a rare subjective expression and perception of the world through her figurative and abstract drawings. With a foundation degree in Art and Design from Central St. Martins and a BA from London College of Fashion, Daniela’s creative talents aren’t restricted to one type of media. She creates expressive paintings with fluid colours and intricate drawings with personal narratives.

Large gestural painted marks with a full sweep of arm and body movements give huge dynamic sense of movement that the paintings express. Daniela’s style and colour signature are carried throughout with the profile, head suggestions and full painted linear strokes where large canvas space operates on a one to one relationship with the viewer.

In each individual work Daniela shares part of herself, as well as, an honest interpretation of what she sees in an attempt to relate and reflect on emotions that can arise as a result of conflict. Her artistic ethos is to address certain social stigmas through art, such as addiction and abuse, and create visual interpretations of the physiological and physical effects these conflicts can have. Her paintings have a refreshing honesty, exploring personal narratives that are executed with artistic finesse.
