Jeff Harris

Jeffrey Harris was born in 1932 in Leeds. He started drawing as a ten year old while exploring the Yorkshire countryside by bicycle.

He studied painting and printmaking at Leeds College of Art and won a 6 month Travelling Scholarship to study in Paris. In 1956 he moved to St Ives, Cornwall.

He shared an Arts Council Porthmeor Beach studio in St Ives, with Tasmanian born painter Gwen Leitch, from 1956 until 1970.

Jeff regularly exhibited during this period and was an active member of the Penwith Society of Artists.

In 1970, he moved to Australia. He paints most days in the studio at the bottom of his garden.
