“All my work finds its routes in drawing from observation. The shapes, forms and gestures collected in these drawings are the raw material I use to build my images. As I draw and paint, they become infused with my own ideas, experiences and memories.
I want to catch within the paintings some very specific, potent feelings that I find hard to describe but that occur at certain times throughout my life. I want to use light and space and the process of making paintings to recreate an idea of these feelings.”
