The concept of this exciting series is to invite contemporary artists to create new work inspired by the museum’s historical collection.
The first exhibition, Flora Yukhnovich x Daniel Crews-Chubb is currently in Gallery 8 of the museum.
ACS member Flora Yukhnovich has created a series of dramatic paintings which draw upon the museum’s Still-Life Paintings Gallery, 17th and 18th-century Dutch flower paintings. The works also reference archetypal motifs of idealised beauty combined with references to female characters in horror films such as The Witch, Carrie and Raw.
