Briefly Gorgeous at Soho Revue

'Briefly Gorgeous' opened last week at Soho Revue, bringing together the work of six female contemporary artists, including ACS member Juno Calypso.
Through photography, sculpture and mixed media, the artists explore how female beautification is constructed and maintained within contemporary culture. Briefly Gorgeous reflects on the shifting nature of beauty standards and the effect they have on women’s relationships with their appearances. The exhibition also addresses themes including the male gaze, femininity and anxieties surrounding ageing.
