'Eileen Agar: Angel of Anarchy' at Whitechapel Gallery

Angel of Anarchy is a large retrospective of ACS member Eileen Agar’s work, hosted by Whitechapel Gallery⁣.

The show charts Agar‘s practice from the 1920s to the 1990s, featuring over 150 works, including painting, collage, photography and sculpture. The exhibition spans much of Agar‘s career, featuring early pieces produced during her time teaching at The Slade School of Fine Art, experiments with Cubism, the artist’s inclusion in the 1936 International Surrealist Exhibition, alongside later compositions of lyrical abstraction.⁣
