Rosie Emerson Featured in 'Good Figures' at Jerwood Gridshell
April 20, 2015

100 years ago ACS member Dame Laura Knight was one of the first female artists to depict the female nude and in 1936 she became the first woman to be elected to the Royal Academy.

This month, a century later, ACS member Rosie Emerson joins thirty other female artists taking part in an exhibition at the Jerwood Gridshell celebrating the freedom and expression of women practising art today. Emerson is well known for her screen-prints and cyanotype works which explore the female form, drawing reference from archetypes old and new, from Artemis to the modern-day supermodel.
