Yukhnovich was invited by The Wallace Collection to create two new pieces of work in response to the museum’s extensive collection of work by the French Rococo painter François Boucher. Yukhnovich’s paintings challenge traditionally held notions of the male gaze, femininity and gender by adopting the painterly ‘language’ of the Rococo and applying it through a contemporary lens. ⁣

The two works titled, Folies Bergère and A World of Pure Imagination, will temporarily replace two of Boucher’s works at the top of the grand staircase on the landing of Hertford House, where they will remain on display until later this autumn.⁣
