In this series, the artist sculpted papier-maché, Styrofoam and cardboard into amorphous masses that are painted in lacquer and acrylic. West named the work after the mythological king who was punished for his plotting and deception by Zeus, and the artist draws comparison between this myth and the relentless frustration of the creative process.
