The exhibition will consist of a new series of photographs from a single viewpoint that looks towards Blakeney Point and the North Sea along the Norfolk Coast Path. The site is one that Riddy has visited for over 30 years and is also a popular walking path and an everyday experience for hundreds of people. For the artist, this specific viewpoint and its translation into a photographic series is informed by his deep familiarity with the setting and an accumulation of his impressions.
In describing the forthcoming exhibition, the gallery states, ‘Returning time and again to specific locations, Riddy is interested in the transformation that occurs when the familiar world is described as a photograph on paper.’
