'Kate Groobey: Angry, but calmer than before'
May 12, 2025
A new solo exhibition by ACS member Kate Groobey, 'Angry, but calmer than before', will be opening next week at RIBOT gallery in Milan.
At the heart of the exhibition is a series of vivid watercolours created by Groobey in the wake of life-saving surgery. Featuring recurring figures including the artist, her wife and a symbolic horse known as ‘The Female Stallion’, Groobey blends humour and vulnerability to express anger, fear and resilience within the pieces.
A special linoleum print edition of the titular artwork has also been produced for the occasion, with half the prints presented in Italian to relate to the show’s local audience.
