The exhibition, which marks the first solo display of the ACS member’s work at the Gallery in over a decade, explores Freud’s lifelong engagement with the human face and figure. Featuring rarely seen drawings, etchings and paintings, the exhibition reveals the intense observation, technical precision and dialogue between drawing and painting that defined the artist’s practice and in turn, shaped some of Britain’s most celebrated portraits.
