British Museum presents Touch: Works on Paper by Maggi Hambling
October 9, 2016
ACS member Maggi Hambling is one of Britain’s foremost contemporary artists. She is known for her celebrated portraits, paintings of the sea, and her public sculpture and this exhibition at the British Museum presents an important survey of her works on paper to trace the artist’s engagement with drawing throughout her career.

Displaying over 40 works on paper, the exhibition includes works from the British Museum’s own collection, as well as loans from the National Portrait Gallery and Tate, and rarely-seen works from private collections and the artist’s studio.  Dynamic and sensuous, they display an immediate and powerful connection with the subject drawn, pervaded by the concept of ‘touch’.
