The exhibition is hosted by Brooke Benington Gallery at the Spazio Norbert Salenbauch in Venice and is informed by Miehling’s experience of living in both Germany and the UK, which he describes as ‘belonging-in-transience’.
 
The exhibition draws upon and develops ideas from Miehling’s 2020 performance and video work I Find My Way Around. In Miehling’s earlier piece, three performers, confined by elastic rope, were placed in a rural location and left to develop new gestures as they explored their surroundings.
 
In his most recent exhibition and in response to the 2020 performance, Miehling has developed a new series of wall-based sculptures and drawings. The silhouettes of the works reference the abstracted body shapes of the performers as they explored their surroundings.
