Mark Adlington: Painting the Ice Bear
December 9, 2016
Renowned for his depictions of wild animals, ACS member Mark Adlington has spent the last three years travelling throughout northern Europe and the Arctic studying the polar bear. Drawings and paintings based on studies from such trips are currently on display at the John Martin Gallery, combining on-site preparation following the world’s largest land predator with hours in the studio.
The exhibition coincides with a new book on the artist’s work, published by Unicorn Press, which presents more than one hundred artworks following the polar bear from cub to maturity.
Until 22 Dec
