Parallel Lines: Eileen Cooper and Leicester’s Art Collection
September 4, 2022
Bringing together works produced over her forty-year career, Parallel Lines at the Leicester Museum & Art Gallery is the first major review of ACS member Eileen Cooper’s work.

Parallel Lines is curated by the independent art curator and writer, Kathleen Soriano. The show features some of Cooper’s seminal works including Creepy Crawly (1987) and Trapeze (2012) as well as three portraits on public display for the first time ever.

Cooper’s paintings are showcased alongside a series of works from Leicester Museums & Galleries’ art collection, including works by Paula Rego, L.S Lowry and Pablo Picasso. As well as exploring the concepts behind Cooper’s works, the exhibition explores the influence of museum art collections on artists today.

A catalogue by Soriano supports the exhibition and has been kindly sponsored by Huxley-Parlour, Cooper’s gallery.
