Rob & Nick Carter: Robot Works after Warhol
November 12, 2022
ACS members Rob and Nick Carter's new exhibition Robot Works after Warhol is currently on display at their studio and viewing space RNat5A.
Debuting at the show are nine almost identical robot paintings after Andy Warhol’s Daisy. These full-colour robot paintings reference Warhol’s practice of producing many variations of a single image. Each painting was executed in 3 hours, 59 minutes and 3 seconds of continuous autonomous painting by the robot — 820 brushstrokes from start to finish.
Andy Warhol Robot Painting (2020) from the artists’ Dark Factory Portraits series is also included in the show. This robot painting represents the series that began the Carters’ involvement with AI and robotics.
Until 22 Dec
