Susan Aldworth: The Dark Self
June 7, 2017
The latest exhibition by ACS member Susan Aldworth has been inspired by her research into sleep during a three-year residency at the University of York.

Featuring an immersive installation, porcelain and plaster sculptures, moving image work and monoprints, The Dark Self explores human identity through the subjective experience of sleeping and it offers a mediation on questions of the self and consciousness. Integral to the exhibition is the scale and setting of York St Mary’s, which is a deconsecrated medieval church.

Until 3 September (Wednesdays to Sundays, 11am to 4pm)
York St Marys, Castlegate, York YO1 9RN
