Toby Ziegler: Post-Human Paradise at Simon Lee Gallery
November 1, 2016
ACS member Toby Ziegler has an exhibition of paintings and video work at Simon Lee this month.

Matisse’s Large Reclining Nude (The Pink Nude), 1936 provides the starting point for this collection of new work which features digital technology that disintegrates Matisse’s painting through progressive pixellation to explore the manner in which computers process images, losing data and information through translation, thus recreating facsimiles.

The videos are accompanied by paintings which shimmer and glow and that situate and question the body in relation to technology, the object and the image.

Until 12 November
