ACS is thrilled to announce The National Library of Wales has commissioned ACS member Joshua Donkor to create a portrait of June Campbell Davies to be housed in their permanent collection.
Celebrating the life and work of the Cardiff-based dancer, choreographer and teacher, Donkor’s portrait combines transfers of Campbell Davies’ personal photographs with the painted image to create, in the artist’s own words; “a rich tapestry of June’s life and impact in Wales.”
Donkor was also recently awarded the Royal Society of British Artists Rome Scholarship which offers one figurative artist the opportunity to stay at Sala Uno Gallery and International Arts Centre in Rome for four weeks.
