Mainie Jellett and Evie Hone: The Art of Friendship
July 14, 2025
“The Art of Friendship' is not just a display of [the artists’] work, it is an invitation to discover the power of friendship.' - Dr Caroline Campbell, Director of the National Gallery of Ireland.
The National Gallery of Ireland’s ongoing spring-summer exhibition ‘The Art of Friendship’, unites the work of ACS member Mainie Jellett with that of fellow Irish modernist Evie Hone. In an exploration of the artists’ two-decade-long friendship, the show marks the first exhibition of Jellett and Hone’s works side-by-side since 1924.
