Helen Chadwick: Life Pleasures
August 13, 2025
Now open at The Hepworth Wakefield, Helen Chadwick: Life Pleasures presents a major retrospective of the ACS member, bringing together key works that trace a provocative and pioneering practice defined by material experimentation and subversive wit.
Spanning two decades of Chadwick’s artistic career, the exhibition explores the artist’s irreverent use of organic matter, unconventional media and visceral imagery to confront systems of gender, power and representation. From domestic critiques to biomorphic sculpture, the showcase reveals a legacy that continues to shape contemporary dialogues around the body, feminism and the aesthetics of transformation.
