Now open at The Frick Collection in New York, Flora Yukhnovich’s Four Seasons transforms François Boucher’s celebrated series into a new, site-specific mural.
Bringing Yukhnovich’s distinctive painterly language to the Frick’s Cabinet Room, the ACS member revisits the Rococo through a contemporary lens. Balancing structure and spontaneity, translating Boucher’s allegories of the seasons into fluid gestures and shifting colour.
The project coincides with a new chapter in the Frick’s Diptych series, featuring texts by Yukhnovich and the Frick’s Deputy Director, Xavier F. Salomon.
